[F]I have been on probation for 2 years and have been a model probationer. I was on probation for getting pulled over with a friend of mine who had marijuana on him that I definitely didn't know about, especially since my 6 month old baby was in the car. I know I'm having a UA test in 6 days when I go for my probation appointment. Lately, I have been having recurring panic/anxiety attacks (which I used to have in the past). A friend of my gave me a handful of xanax to take when I felt an attack coming on. For the past couple of weeks, I have been taken one quarter of a xanax bar and it has helped tremendously, especially since I have two small children that I have to be completely there for as a stay-at-home mom. The only reason I haven't seen a doctor for some kind of anxiety prescription is that my husband recently switched jobs and we are temporarily without insurance. Now that I've found out I have a test coming up, I'm really worried. Not sure if they check for xanax type of pills in probation ua but I don't want to take a chance. Any ideas how I can make sure my test is clean?

They test for things like amphetamines, cocaine, heroin, stuff like that. Just the major stuff as it is far too expensive to test for everything. Would suggest that you stop taking xanax completely to be sure. You are risking more than you know by taking anything while you are on probation. Think of your child and pass on any kind of drug period. Having to rely on pills just because you are nervous is not the way to go through life. It's too easy to get hooked on them whether you realize it or not. Are you stronger than the pills? Sure you are. Just don't take them. Plus if you don't have a legitimate prescription for them and you are caught with them in your purse, you can get into more trouble that you don't need right now.

Let me see you are getting worried about taking a drug test, so to help yourself feel better, you take a illegal drug ( one not prescribed to you)

I am sorry what part of dumb can be define that as. Stop taking it and if there is a issue with nerves go see a doctor , since as long as you have a prescription those items can show up.

No, no idea how to have a clean test other than not taking any drugs. I think perhaps you have not been a model probationer - due to the Xanax. You are also making excuses.

Read up on it - it's heavy stuff and if you are caught with it out of the container you will violate and be arrested again. I'd think a little bit about who is going to raise your kids if you're picked up again.

So, no, if it's in your system and they do a broad panel test you will have a problem. I would also find a new group of friends - apparently one got you arrested in the first place and now one is handing out prescription drugs.

I'm human too. But, I also know who you're dealing with. I don't think you do. These are NOT nice people. They're not fair, they LOVE to put people in jail, and they have BO.

I noticed you mentioned to another questioner that you've never heard of anybody being violated for a dirty UA the first time. That's not law. That's rumor. RUMOR gets people into trouble. You may very well be a victim of rumor yourself.

In spite of what you "heard", people ARE slammed for possession of mairjuana, as you found out. In fact, people ARE violated for a first time dirty, as you might yet find out.

But, back to the human part. It's not inhuman to succumb to drugs. It's just not smart to deny it and make excuses for it. Drugs are FINE. Do them, or don't. If you DO them, KNOW what the consequences are and weigh the risks. Don't pretend you're not doing drugs, or they're OK, or you NEED them, or you're NOT taking a risk, or they won't do anything to you.

Jails are full of people who think that.

No, I wasn't taking anti-anxiety medication because I was worried about a drug test, because I'm not a drug user. I really don't understand someone that can judge someone as being "dumb" unless they themselves have suffered from anxiety attacks for most of their lives.

No, stating that I have an problems with severe anxiety is not making excuses. But then again, maybe you would also think I was making excuses if I said I grew up with an abusive stepfather and lost my mother and baby sister to a drunk driver when I was 14, which in turn contributed to periods of panic and anxiety attacks for the rest of my life.

So go to a Doctor and get treated - no one is saying panic attacks aren't real. The question is why, when you're on probation, you are taking prescription drugs which are prescribed for someone else. I realize you have no health insurance but there are lots of clinics out there.

Maybe it's just bad choices - I don't know. I don't know the circumstances of your original arrest, why you were charged and convicted when you had no knowledge of the drugs.

Your children should not be exposed to a mother who experiences panic/anxiety attacks, is on probation, is "borrowing" drugs from other people and is not seeking help and is now worried she isn't going to pass the drug screening panel.

I trust you want your children to grow up in a better atmosphere than you did - so go to a clinic and get something prescribed for you.
