    Well Water Pump
If we disconnect our well pump to do some maintenance inside on the faucets (there is no shut off valve to the hosue) will we be able to just start it back up - even if we have lost all pressure? Is it possible that this will cause contamination to the water?

    Hey PQWONDER...

I wouldn't disconnect the pump... just shut the power off to unit (breaker or fuse) and water will stop being pumped up to system.

You will need to release the pressure from faucets... should be a drain located at the TANK. Drain water from here... perform work.. then just shut drain and turn on power. That should be all you need to do.

    Good luck... Mark

Correct. Consider, PQ, that the pump is constantly turning off and on anyway, so a restart will be no problem, even if you have no pressure on the system. If it's a jet pump, and you somehow, in all of this, lose prime, you will need to prime it. Remove plug from top of pump casing, pour in water until it overflows, replace plug, turn on power, enjoy.
