I have just moved into a new house and cut the lawn for the first time, the grass is on clay and I its very thin and patchy,

What is the best way to get the lawn looking like wimbledon !

I have heard about areating and re-seeding to weed and feed ?

What do you suggest

Get or do a soil test. Especially get the ph (simple $20 meter at home depot). From there find out how much lime you need to apply. It will tell you on the bag.

You would want to use some "starter fertilizer" and overseed.

I doubt your ready for weed and feed yet. Most of those products can't be used unless the lawn is established.
