Hi, I recently purchased two Honeywell VisonPRO 8000 - TH832U1008 to replace my Honeywell FocusPRO 5000 - TH5220D1003 because I wanted programmable thermostats. After swapping over the connections, the heat function will not work. I can turn on the fan manually, and the cool function works. Outside I have a two Frigidaire FT5BD-036K Split system Heat pumps and two Frigidaire B5BM-T36K-B furnaces, one in the basement and one in the attic. House is all electric, no gas.

The original set up done by the builder was as follows (on the conventional side, not Heat pump side?):

Black - Y2
White - W2
Green - G
Orange - W
Blue - C
Yellow - Y
Red - R

I tried wiring up the new VisionPro 8000 with the same setup... Please help!

I think there is a number missing @ #: TH832#U1008

The VP 8000 series has a LOT of setup options. Just connecting terminals will likely not give the desired result.

Sorry to be green at HVAC stuff, first house and first time dealing with this stuff, The corrected model number is TH8320U1008. So what wires should be connected to what connections?

How many thermostata do you have.
One for both systems or one for each system?

Thanks for the info so far, I have both manuals out in front of me but I'm still a little lost. First off, I do not know why the original thermostat had the wires put into the conventional side instead of the heat pump side seeming I have heat pump system. Second, I'm not sure how to translate the wires between the two thermostats (I thought my system was hooked up as a 2H/2C system with one transformer, but not sure). Thanks again for the help! If you do not know and you are there how would you expect me to know when I am not there.

I believe you are in over your head on this project. I suggest you call for ON SITE professional help.

Sorry but it is almost impossible to figure out your system by the use of a message board. Way to many variables. I have an idea of what is going on with your system wiring but I never like to guess at your expense. If improperly wired damage can occur.

The only thing I can suggest is wiring the new exactly like the old. Letter/number/color for Letter/number/color exactly the same for each terminal of each thermostat. If it worked previously with the old it should work with the new. Read the manuals to see if any options need to be put in place.
