I have a friend that I go to church with that is on probation for some stupid things he did, but has got back on the right path now, he is on probation for 9 months... out youth group is going on a mission trip to Honduras this summer, do you think his PO will approve him to go? It is a church involvement after all

I would think if both his parents and the pastor write to the probatoin officer it is very possible

In my state (MD) the PO does not have the authority to grant travel permission outside the U.S. Only the judge can do that. Be sure you have it straight before leaving and the person must be in full compliance.

The person on probation must have written prior permission to leave the country otherwise their reentry to America will be quite complicated and they may be held at the airport.

    Hello u:

I don't think he'll be given permission to leave the country. If he decides to stay, THIS government can't get him. They don't like to take chances like that.
