    Golden Retriever looks sick
About a month ago My wife and I found a Gold Retriever on the side of the road playing. This was a few miles from anything. We think he's a few months old. He has been really a good dog, not counting the usual puppy accidents. That was until this morning, we went out to feed him and he lost at least 10 lbs if not more. He won't eat or drink. I washed him real good and dried to a ball of fluff, but he won't eat nothing, no puppy chow wet or dry, nor does he drink any water.

I put him down and he walks into the bathroom and lays in the corner, when he walks after laying down for a bit he has trouble standing up straight, I think its just he's to weak to stand on his own because he's never had the problem before.

    Any Idea's? Im worried.

I would suggest you take him to a vet immediately. There is not a lot of advice that can be given online without more info. Go see a vet ASAP.

Shortly after my post I checked up on him, he's pulse was rapid and he wasn't responding too much besides my voice. I went to hold him up and he lost control of bodily functions. Then blood came from his rear. I have clue of what he got into or what was going on, but the both of us were covered in his fluids, I carried him outside to wear I pet him and watched him slowly pass away. His last few breaths were spaced about 10 seconds apart and he died with my hand on his head.

Ive never heard of a dog dying in less then 24 hours from point of being good to death.

Jonah (my puppy) died at 7:15 pm Wednesday February 15, 2006. :(

Thanks, but it was too late. Felt terrible to watch my new best friend die with nothing I could do.

    Hi, Imperceptus,
I am so sorry for your loss. My wife and I had a terrior-poodle mix housedog, 12 yrs old, when she passed away, at home, two weeks ago. She had possible cancer, with a low Red Blood cell count, enlarged spleen. The Vet had hoped medications would improve her, but it didn't.
Losing a loved one is not easy.
Even if you had taken him to a Vet at the first signs of sickness, it still may have been too late to save him. My prayers are with you.
