I am lost on how to write a letter to the judge and ask for a new public defender. Can someone please help??

You did not say why you wanted a new public defender in this matter. It's kind of late in the movie to ask the judge if this is going to trial tomorrow. Is this going to be a regular hearing being held? Have you expressed your reason to the public defender that you are not pleased with his services? He would be the one who would present to the judge a Motion for removal from being your son's attorney. In some instances the judge will appoint a different public defender for your son. It all depends on just why you don't want the one you have now on the case.

Send it certified, return receipt requested, and send a copy to the judge and the prosecutor.

Since it's going to be today, HAND deilver everybody their copy.
