    Toilet not in use
How should I prepare my toilets if they aren't going to be used for 6 months?

I have been away for that length of time and didn't do anything to the toilets, but did have to give them a good cleaning as we were on a septic tank. It makes a difference, septic tank or town sewers.

Tickle's correct if the toilet will be left in the summertime. However, the wintertime is a different story. Not only the toilets but every trap, the water heater, floor drains, water pipes, etc. everythingt connected to water has to be "winterized". But I* sure would shut the water off to the house before I left.

Sharon, as you can see it all depends where you live and what time of the year you leave it vacant. What months will the place be closed up and where is it?

Thanks for all the responses. It will be left in the desert in the summer. A/C will be on, however.
