I am in the market for a new camcorder. I don't want to spend over $500. Not quiet sure about what format of recording I should go with ( like mini DV, hard drive) and also the make ( sony, cannon etc ?)

I use a dvd camcorder that was about 299.00. Dvd is good because you can take the disc and play it right into another dvd player without trasnfering.

Also you don't have to rewind and you can choose scenes you want to start from.
