I have a network of 20 Systems having Windows 98 Installed. With Following Settings :-

All Windows xp
2 broadband Internet Connection (with router)
All Machines are having Unrestricted Internet connection.


My Requirements :-
Allow Free mail servers (Ex.Yahoo / Rediff/ Gmail / orkut / hotmail / etc.)
- Users should Access their mails using http using a browser
- Users should NOT be able to SEND Attachemnts
- Users should NOT be able to RECEIVE Attachemnts
- No other restrictions to be implemented

I can consider any software firewall, Hardware Firewall, Or a combination of both if solves my purpose.

You are providing unrestricted web access and unrestricted email access and now you want to restrict it? Makes no sense.

You will need to start by restricting and filtering web access so that no one can use email of any type except what you provide. You will then need to provide an internal email system that blocks attachments to the Internet. That is possible.

About the only way I could think to accomplish ONE of those would be to block file downloads through group policy, and not allowing users to install applications (liek other browsers). But that would be for all sites... there's no way I know to set it to specific sites. Plus people who use gmail could just get mail through POP.

And as far as I know, there isn't a way to block the HTTP Form upload.

You can use a firewall to bock users from downloading specific file types, going to certain web sites and from using certain protocols (streaming RealMedia for example) but you can't block them from uploading information as far as I know. If the site they're downloading from supports https then you won't be able to block by file type since it's encrypted. What's your goal in doing this? Is it to prevent a virus outbreak, protect company trade secrets, preserve bandwidth, etc.. There might be other things you can do as well.
