French citizenship if one parent born in st. martin, west indies
    Hi,
My father was born in St. Martin ( a department of France) and has French citizenship. I am 35 years old and I was born in the US, am I able to obtain French citizenship without my father's help using my birth certificate which has his name on it?

You can't claim citizenship by yourself. You need your father's help.

You should contact the french embassy and ask them what you need... My daughters and I got our irish citizenships by contacting the irish consulate here in ny and they helped us to get the documents needed, e.g. birth certificates of my parents etc... By the way , would you or your father know anything about doing business in martinique and/or guadalupe and/or french guiana?. I posted a question about this under 'intenational business'... good luck!
