Ok, my period is almost a week late, and between the first day it was late until now, I have taken a total of 3 pregnancy tests. All of the tests gave negative results. Should I now contact my doctor about other possibilities, or should I still be worried that I might be pregnant??

A week late is generally nothing to worry too much about, in fact worrying might delay it even more, I would give it another week, if you still haven't had your period, then try another test, if that is negative, it could be for a hormonal reason.

Have you had unprotected sex in the last 3 weeks or so?

Being a week late can be caused by many factors other than pregnancy. Have you been ill recently? Are you or have you been on any medications? Under stress? Changed your diet or exercise routine? Have you gained or lost any weight recently?

I don't like to answer questions with questions, however, I have to get the whole picture before I even begin to form an adequate answer.

Well I have type 2 diabetes and I have had it for 6 years, after the birth of my first son. I have just been switched off insulin, which I was on during my pregnancy with my 2nd son, who was born 5 months ago. They now have put me on Byetta. My periods have not been the same since I had my son and stopped breast feeding in Dec 07. I am under some stress at work and I got sick about 4 weeks ago, which caused me to lose 10 pounds. I had sex with my boyfriend once on March 28th, but like I said, I took 3 pregnancy tests and they were all negative, and my period was supposed to have been here last Thursday.

Are you on any other meds with the Byetta? Such as Metformin?

I'm on 5 units of Byetta twice a day, 2mg of Glimepiride twice a day, and 500mg of Metformin twice a day. Would this make a difference in my cycle? This cycle that has been late, would be the first cycle that I would have since being on all three of these drugs.

I don't see where each one individually can cause this, however, since you recently started taking them (since your last cycle) it is possible that these meds have thrown you off cycle a bit, along with losing the 10 pounds.

I would suggest waiting another few days to a week and test again. But remember that furst morning urine with an HPT gives you the most accurate result.
