Land lord increasing rent with no written agreement
My landlord is obviously selling her property. Wev'e been renting 3 yrs, and our lease is up. We pay month to month. The landlord increased our rent without wriiten notification. She told us with verbal notification. We didn't know what to do so we paid the increase but think we should this month. Please help.

Your landlord has every right to do this by law providing that the increase is within rent control guidelines. It is her/his property and do not have to notify you in writing as long as there was ample notification.

Okay thank you, she gave us a month notice. I'm just wondering if we were better off signing another lease, but does our lease lock us in with new owners of the house if they decide to rent to us?
    Thanks so much

Depends on the State - I would have asked for the increase in writing just from a legal standpoint.
