    Briggs and stratton carb problems
I have been having problems with my briggs and stratton 12.5hp motor! The carburator keeps getting too much gas into the float reservoir and gas comes out. I recently purchused a brand new carb and installed it but still seam to get too much gas to the carburator when I go to start it. Could it be the fuel filter that is connected to the fuel line? Not sure! Please help!

    Thanks

Is there any oily substance in the carb air cleaner?

No substance in carb air cleaner. I remove the air cleaner from the carb! Could it be a bad fuel filter?

Is there rust in the gas tank?

Sounds like the filter may be full, and there are small particles in the fuel line beyond the filter, causing the needle valve to stay open. Remove and clean the tank, lines, and carb. And change the filter.

Not sure if there is rust in gas tank! I do have new filters ordered along with new line and plan on tanking tank off as well and cleaning it. I will keep you informed on how the come out is! Thanks for your replies

Make sure the float does not have a hole in it and that the float level is correct.

I removed everything... carb, filters, gas line, gas tank and cleaned everything and put back together and I am up and running! Thank you so much for all your help!
