    AC Condenser fan stops running
I have read the other posts about the condenser fan stopping. My question is that my fan will stop spinning for some reason, then we shut the unit down after awhile we will start the unit up again and it begins to spin again, but then it stops again after about 30 minutes or so. Can this just be the capacitors or is it the motor itself? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Eric

Test capacitor if good it is probably the motor. Now this is if your thermostat is calling for cooling all this time. Sometimes the A/C system will cycle off on with the thermostat and the outside fan will stop running during that period.

How old is the system and is it using 410A or R22? Some of the 410A system will help control the condenser fan motor with a pressure switch, if the pressures get to high in the heating mode on a warm day the pressure switch will shut the motor down to let your pressures drop on the system. I have seen them go bad and keep the motor from working right in the cooling mode.

Have The Same Problem Going But I Took Out The Pressure Switch For Now And Replaced The Fan Because When I First Got Two The Unit The Fan Wasn't Running And It Was Running Slow When I Moved The Blades To Start It. So Installed a New Capacitor And Fan I'm Running The Fan To Direct Line Power. The Fan Is Still Going Off, So Now I'm Thinking Thermistat Or 24 Volt Voltage Regulator? So Let Me Know What You Think?

I'm new at this.. but have some electrical background and am experiencing similar issues... I've got a brand new fan motor, relay, two capacitors (fan, and condenser) and my fan keeps stopping after 10-25 minutes. Where is the pressure switch? What does it look like? (Carrier system) Is it something I can replace? I have a spare thermostat is it likely to be bad... worked fine all winter...

I have a old heil ac unit. 3 years ago stopped spinning during summer. Changed motor still same problem. Called ac guy and new run capacitor. Just started other day same thing so called ac guy and got new run capacitor but fan still stops spinning after a while and everything else runs. Oiled motor but still stops. I just ordered new motor and if it still stops, what could be causing it besides the capacitor and condenser fan motor? Odd thing is the capacitor was blown and thinking that whatever causing motor on fan to stop and system still running caused the capacitor to blow. Got to figure out if not fan and capacitor what's the cause?
