Taking wall paper off plaster walls
I am currently taking the wall paper off my bedroom and bathroom walls. The bathroom went well, the paper came right off the walls (drywall). However, my bedroom is a different story. I scored the walls then applied this spray on adhesive remover that worked well in the bathroom. No such luck (plaster walls in the bedroom bu the way). So someone else told me to try hot water and fabric softener. Tried it no go. Someone else said hot water and vinegar. No luck. I am getting nervous about doing too much to the plaster walls.

Any suggestions? I am not damaging the walls by using the home remedies am I?

You might also try an iron. Get it wet and heat it up. There's no method I've found that works for all types of wallcoverings/glue on plaster.

Just try the various methods - Do the best you can damaging the walls as little as possible - and skim coat damaged areas with topping when you're done.

You might have some luck by calling a rental place and ask if they has a steam paper remover.
