    Kenmore no agitate or spin
I have my suspicions but I'd like to clarify:

Washer fills drains and cycles fine

The washer will not agitate or spin, only makes a buzz and smells hot.

I replaced the coupling a couple weeks ago (for the 3rd time)

I'm assuming the motor is not turning (the smell) but the washer drains.

Could the agitator dogs bind the motor in agitate and spin? Or am I looking at the transmission?

    Thanks for any help

The coupler between the motor and transmission is bad. Easy repair and cost about $35

Thank you for your standard answer esquire1, I will double check this but if you re-read my post the coupling was replaced 2 weeks ago. If it's bad again something else is wrong as well.

Update. I don't know what happened but it's working.

I will say that there are more rubber filings under the coupling than I'd like to see after only 2 weeks and there are some pretty loud clunks as the transmission switches from agitate to drain and rinse. The dogs looked and worked fine.

Should I start saving for the new washer fund?
