    Oral Sex
If a man performs oral sex on a woman and she has the cold is it possible for him to get the flu as well?

In other words, can you get the flu from oral sex?

Since you can't have sex from a distance, you can get the flu by being that close to them.

You can't get the flu from someone who has a cold, in the first place, they are two different viruses. In the second place the flu and the cold are viruses of the respiratory and GI tract. Since the genitals are neither part of the respiratory tract, or GI tract, you can't get the cold or flu from oral sex.

    This is a medical question.

Anyway, if you are around a person who is sick with a communicable disease, you are likely to catch it from them specially if you are French kissing! As far as cunnilingus, no connection to upper respiratory diseases that I have ever heard of. :D

    Yes and no...

The flu is a respiratory disease and the virus binds to specific sites on mucous membrane cells. A few online sites will mention oral transmission is possible, but none state any primary lit. and it sure wasn't present in my Boyd Medical Microbiology text as a route of transmission. So strict transmission through oral sex just isn't supported by anything I've seen.

And then there's the tack others mentioned... the fact that the virus is spread not only though droplets from coughs or sneezes, but also through skin-skin contact and even inanimate objects. So... if he has the flu, its likely on his hands... and unless he has some special skills I don't or suspends from a harness-like device like in mission impossible... that's a sight, isn't it?. I'm thinking he's like the rest of us mortals who go down on a lover... using his hands on your body.

Mkay... well, you might not get it through his mouth on you, but, as mentioned, his being near you can produce other routes of transmission that are accepted and known.

I am going to answer this way... If you let the poor woman get some rest and get over her illness, wouldn't the sex be a little more exciting?? GEEZ!!
No, you won't get the flu if she has a cold... but you may catch the cold just by being there.
