Lag time in getting hot water
When I turn on my upstairs hot water tap in the bathroom, it takes about at least a whole 3-5 minuts for the water to actually get warm or hot... I leave on my shower for about 5 minutes just so it can get warm... this is a lot of wasted water... what can I do? Our house is about 6.5 years old...

Look into a Dmand valve. Metlund D'MAND Recirculation Systems This system actually sucks the room temp water out of the pipe run and shoves it back down the cold supply line. No wasted water and your hot reaches you in about 30 seconds.

Bob has good information for you...

There are a number of these recirculating systems on the market today. My favorite has a timer built into it.. called a grundfos comfort series pump system... see pic. Below. Requires you to hook up under sink (vanity) and that will keep hot water available instantly for entire bathroom.

Not much to hooking this up.. just need an electrical outlet and basic kit and should be good to go.

Let us know what you think... Mark
