My Period came as scheduled but the blood is bright orange, almost neon orange colored and bigger clotting than normal. I had no cramping or swelling in my knees like I normally do when I first start my menstrual cycle. In fact I had no signs I was about to start at all. The color is so bright it's alarming! Is this normal?

You know, this is such a weird case as a few weeks ago in clinical, a patient came in with the same symptom. To be honest, the MD hadn't ever seen this case before so he referred her to an ob-gyn... but overall, he told her not to worry too much about it. It could be some sort of a chemical imbalance that's giving the blood its tint.

Have you been taking medication recently... change in diet... anything of the sort?

I'd call up the ob-gyn, see what they say, perhaps make a scheduled appointment.
