My daughter has been summoned in regards to a real estate foreclosure on property she was co-signed for about 10 years ago but has not lived in for about 8 years after she broke off her relationship with the owner of the property. That owner has assured her that he will pay the back mortgage payments due, plus penalties. Does she need to answer the summons?
