    Fan on willl it break
    Hey is leaving the fan on will it damage the unit or burn out the motor if I leave it on. :confused:

    It is a carrier gas furnace with air handler and cetral air will the fan break or burn out I am confused!

    The fan motor can be run as much as you want. It is designed to do the job of moving air so no damage should happen. Make sure the air filter is always clean and it will cost you a few bucks a month more to leave the fan on all the time.

    Most every engineer I've ever talked to says leaving the fan on will not shorten the life.
    But you can never tell for sure. Like HVAC said keep the motor and filters clean, dirt eats up the bearings. If it has places to oil it, do so twice a year instaed of once.
