I'm more of a honda guy and don't really know about your car, but before you look at any parts, I would check the level of your power steering fluid. If you get a leak in your power steering lines, it will make some noise when turning at first. As the leak progresses and the fluid runs out, it will make a horrible noise as the power steering pump gets dry and then is completely ruined. Those are quite expensive items, so please top off your fluid if it needs any. Then, trace the hoses that come out of that. If you find a leak, you'll want to replace that hose. Hoses are so much cheaper than pumps, so try to catch this while you can to minimize your damage.
Hi, Chris,
Another consideration is the ball joints on the front wheels. You can check yourself, as they do with State Inspections, by jacking up the front.
When a front wheel is off the ground, take the wheel by the top and bottom, see if it has any "play" in it, moving it in and out.
Bad ball joints can also cause a sound when turning right or left.
Best of luck.
Your CVC joints on one side or both are probably worn out.
I'd go with Dr D on this one. Sounds like CV joints to me. If you have 150000 Km or more I would look there.
