    Unplug from the internet.

Get your computer professionally cleaned for viruses.

If you have ever done any online banking and the like, keep a close eye on your accounts and credit profile.

    Good luck!

A note to everyone, LIMEWIRE is VERY VERY BAD.

I go to several computer help rooms on Pal Talk-- Very smart techies -- Worldwide

Most agree that P2P is a bad thing -- Slime Wire and My Space are virus hangouts

Go to SAFE MODE with NETWORKING -- run a scan with these programs -- How To Get Into Safe Mode

Use this program to get rid of junk

    Download CCleaner 2.06.567 - filehippo.com

Download Latest Version Of Ccleaner and run it

Run Cleaner with Windows tab selected -- Analyze -- Run Cleaner

Run Cleaner with Application tab selected -- Analyze -- Run Cleaner

Select Registry and Click Scan for Issues -- Fix Selected Issues

Save file if it asks you if you want to -- Saves Registry for backup

Personally I wouldn't even bother trying to clean it out. Someone has installed a back door into your system and most certainly they have modified some of the windows system files to facilitate their re-entry into your system should you try to change things. At this point you don't know what's been done or what's been compromised. If they've installed a rootkit to hide their tracks, someone is going to have a tough time getting rid of it. You uninstalled Slimewire and that didn't help.

Burn what you need to save to a CD or DVD then reformat the drive. It's quicker and safer than trying to clean it out. I spent a week working on a co-workers PC because they did something similar. Even then she was still finding files that had been altered months later. Stuff like ftp.exe and telenet.exe were hosed. (yeah, people still use those) She was also finding episodes of the Simpsons in rar format way down in various sub-directories.
