    What should I do
Ok I have a long question and anyone that thinks they know what to do email me at [email protected]

Ok I'm 14 almost 15 I'm play high school football. Im 5 4 and right now I'm 135 lbs. I have been lifting since last summer and can and my power ratio is 1.45 avrage. The team put me as a line man and I was one of the best but are team kind of sucked. As samll as I am I hate lineman and want to be a line backer. My 20 yard dash was 2.81 seconds and I drink a protein shake every day I lift on mondays wedndays and fridays in the morning and the other days run and agiltys and wrestle
In the afternoon I lift every other day from mon to fri and every week it switches. Now my question is what do I need to do to impress my coaches being as small as I am to be a line back or running back

Hi u impress a coach by working hard. Trust me they notice everything you do. Just don't try to over work yourself in the weightlifting department cause that how injuries happen GL ;D

Being as young as you are, I don't think you should be in the weight room at all. Your body needs to develop till your about 20-21. Although some weight training is good, stick to the cardio and healthy diet. Eat the good fats, like peanut butter to gain the mass that linebackers need. Protein shakes are a watse of money if you don't know how to drink them, along with your diet. I've played high school ball for 5 years, if you really want to impress your coach, listen up durin practice and read the books.. your skill is easily shown on the field

    Just a few thoughts
To me, too much working out is a bad thing. Concentrate on doing the right workout to enhance the strengths you need to become a linebacker.

A linebacker must be smarter about the game than a lineman. He has to anticipate better and his lateral (side-to-side) movement must be extremely quick. Being quick enough to cover more area than your teammates will definitely impress your coach. He must be able to play the pass and the run as well.

Steamline your weight training to prepare you for plyometrics. Plyometrics will give you explosive and quick movements.

You can impress your coach by asking the right questions. Ask your coach how you can learn more about the ins-and-outs of the game, especially linebacker. Ask the coach for recommendations on reading materials to gain more knowledge.

Set very small steps of improvement and work hard toward them. Find out the performance stats of your linebacker teammates and work until you can beat or match the best one. It might take more than a year. So, be patient.

Remember, football, like most sports has a mental side. Learn it, and use it.
