Wiring for ceiling fan w/ light & one wall switch
I installed a new Harbour Breeze ceiling fan with a light to replace my old ceiling fan. My house wire is black, red, white, and green (ground). My fan has black, white, blue, and green. My current connections are: House black to fan black; house white to fan white; house red to fan-light blue; house green to fan/light green. I have have one wall switch which currently turns on the fan, but the light does not come on. I know the blue wire is for the light, but I don't know what the house red wire does if anything. Should I connect the blue light wire to the black house wire and simultaneouly connect the fan black to the house black wire? If I did this would the pull chains still work ?

Remove the wall switch. You should see either two black wires connected to the switch or you should see a black wire and a red wire connected to the switch. If you have two black wires connected to the switch the black wire in the ceiling is connected to light if that is what you want the switch to control. The red wire is always hot and would be connected to the fan.
If the red wire is connected to the switch, connect the red wire in the ceiling to the light and the black wire, which is always hot, to the fan.

I have a question.. I have 2 whites wires tied together and 2 black wires tied together and 1 green wire coming from my ceiling. My ceiling fan has 1 white, 1 black, 1 black with a while stripe and 1 green wire.
My light switch has 1 black and 1 white and 1 ground wire..

How do I wire my fan to the ceiling wires and also make sure I can turn on the ceil's fan light by the light switch?

Your description of wires in the ceiling box and wires at the switch are not logical. Look again or post pictures.

You posted that the switch has one white, one black and a ground wire. To have those wires and only those wires in the switch box that has to be a switch leg. When you wire a switch leg, power is taken to the fixture box. The incoming white or neutral it wired to the light fixture, the incoming black is connected to the white going to the switch. Power is taken from the fixture box to the switch on the white and comes back on the black. The black of the switch leg is connected to the light.

You also posted that in the ceiling box you had two white wires connect together and two black wires connected together. If that is correct and that is all of the wires in the ceiling box that has to be power coming on one cable, the black being hot and the white being neutral and going out to another fixture on the other cable.

Therefore, logically there must be other wires involved in either the switch box or the ceiling box or another fixture involved.

Perhaps if you had just posted a picture as requested...
