How do I re-paint an old aluminum fence (not chain link)?
I have a black aluminum pool fence that is about ten years old. It is looking very tired, faded and worn. Rather than spend the money to replace the entire fence I would like to repaint it. I have contacted the manufacturer (elite) and they informed me that they only sell touch up paint and that no one has ever inquired about painting the entire fence because they usually just replace it. I have searched and searched for some guidance but have not been able to find any information. If possible, I would like to repaint it in a dark brown bronze color. I thought of using spay paint for metal but think that would be quite uneconomical and time consuming. I hope you can find some answers for me, thanks!

A good quality exterior latex primer and paint will work and spraying is the best option. Powerwash it first and if there is a powdery film on it a deglosser may be necessary.
