    Electrical hot tub problem---help!
Does anyone know how I can find out what the code is for wiring a hot tub in Reno, Nevada? I have an electrician taking advantage of the fact I don't know this stuff & I really need help.

Call your local count court house look for building inspectors [electrical dept ]You will need to write down the F.L.A. full-load -amps from the motor name plate and heater Then around how many feet from your breaker box to hot tub.For the size of wire you'll need Some times you talk to a nice guy and some times not.Steve

According to the NEC the only thing it really refers to is the fact that it needs to be properly grounded, properly sized for ampereage and that it needs to be ground faulted to equpiment use (Usually meaning a dead front GFCI or a GFCI breaker listed for equpiment use. But I would go with steve for going down to town hall and talk with the wiring inspector with the info on the hot tub and to see if Nevada has amendments to the code.
