    Should I join
    I've been thinking for a while I should join the navy I mean you get to travel meet lots of new people . But the one thing that scares me is that I can't swim do you think that they could help me in the training :confused:

    Well you learn to swim, no big deal, but in the middle of the ocean or in a sub, I doubt there is anywhere to swim anyway.

    If swimming is the only reason you aren't joining the navy, don't worry, they sure will teach you. You don't really have to swim too much anyway unless you are going to be a rescue swimmer in the coast guard... lol

    Well... swimming is easy... just join a swim club or something... ya it sucks like crap.. but if u want to join bad its easy... I can get to leag swimming... and well.. to answer your question... yes they would help you.

    You will feel a lot more confidant about your enlistment in the navy if you learn to swim, first.

    An of course learning to swim for the navy is a lot better than wanting to be able to fly to join the air force. Also of course not all navy jobs are even on ships, while most are, there are many port jobs that are done by 1000's of wonderful troops.

    Last I heard, there is a swimming component in boot camp.
