Wake up but I can't move
I started posting here due to relationship issues, but I figured I'd ask about this since someone might know something about it..

It's been years now that I randomly wake up and I open my eyes but I can't move at all.. no muscle in my body.. I start to vibrate until I can move and I eventually get up.. I used to think that this was all a dream and that maybe my eyes were closed, but it keeps happening, and at one point I opened my eyes and could see my laptop screen was on ( and I indeed left it on that day ).. and one night when I slept with a girl it happened in front of her and she pushed me to wake me up after I was vibrating..

I know this sounds really weird but I dno what doctor I should go see for this sort of thing..
I found it happened more frequently during afternoon naps.. haven't had it happen to me in ages but I'm still curious about what it could be.

When we go to sleep, the body becomes paralyzed. If it didn't we would all act out our dreams. (Sleepwalkers are not paralyzed.) When you wake up, the effect is still there, then you vibrate and can move?

There may be no "cure." See your General Practitioner. She can advise you of what specialist to see.

I agree, to give your doctor a call. Let them do some blood work and describe your symptoms.

Nothing weird at all, if it were me, I would be making an appointment, just to rule out any medical reason.

Nah I think blueroses post pretty much covered it..
It's really weird I didn't think anyone else would have it.. It can be very scary at times I thought maybe something was wrong with me :)

It's really quite common. I have experienced it a few time and I still remember the first time it happened, wakening up but not being able to move, it passed off after a few seconds. Not something you forget in a hurry.

I have had it happen quite a few times. I always thought it was something like a nightmare, but I always tell myself it will pass. It is so erie because I feel like if I can just wiggle my finder I will be OK. I tihink I just drift back off to sleep and yes I remember it when I wake up. It used to happen often, but not so much anymore. Also do you have restless leg syndrome, because I do and I often wonder if the 2 are associated. With the restless legs afetr I stopped smoking mine improved. Edit***I can't open my eyes when this happens so I am never sure what time of the night it is.
