    Car theft
    Hello

My friend is 15 year old and he live in canada, he has stole a car and he got arrested for stealing the car, he has no license. What is he going to be charged with? What the punishment is there any jail time?

And also let say they don't anything for 2 year and when he become 18 and they press charge on him will he be charged as a adult or minor?

He should worry more about the grand theft auto. The no drivers license is far from as serious a crime. The second part of your question about them not doing anything for 2 years is not going to happen, sorry. Have him ask for a court appointed attorney at his arraignment if his parents cannot afford an attorney. He could be spending sometime in jail for grand theft auto.

He will be charged with stealing a car (grand theft auto) and driving without a license.

And, yes, there could be jail time.

And they aren't going to wait two years to move on this - he got arrested. They've already pressed charges. That's what an arrest is.

PS - If he's 15 now he will be 17 in two years, not 18.

Doesn't make a difference, anyway, but the ages don't add up.

They will charged with car theft ( or a similar name in that area) and yes there can be jail time, plus money plus fines
