    Hi guys I live in Manchester,UK n want to knock down a wall to create an open plan kitchen/dining but hoe do I know if it's a supporting wall?

    Supporting walls usually run perpendicular (right angles) to the celing joists and span the length of the house. Additionally, the supporting wall may sit on ground floor dwarf walls supporting the weight.

    The best bet if you are still not sure is to consult a structural engineer or look at any blueprints for your home.
