I dyed my hair black about 3 or 4 months ago with a permanent dye from Sally's. I now have about 2 inches of regrowth, and want to go back to my natural dirty blonde color for my wedding in two years. I called my salon and she told me that they would have to bleach it out and she couldn't quote me a price because it depends on what they have to do to get it out. My hair is down to the middle of my back. I have purchasaed "cOLORFIX" a while ago, but am to afraid to do it on my own. I have an office job and can't really be walking around with orange hair. Is my stylist right about having to bleach it out? Is there any other way? I habe read threw these forums, but still am not sure for my situation. Some things say to bleach, and some people have said Colorfix has worked... HELP ME PLEASE!

Yes, your hair stylist is right. Black hair dyes are hard to correct or move from the hair because the pigments in them are very strong. If you want a decent to blonde color, you will need to bleach your hair and then deposit a toner. Anything thing other than that will result in a brassy red/orange shade.
