    Stem leaking in shower
I just recently put in an extension for my shower faucet. Now, I see that I have a leak coming from the shower stem. The leak is happening even when the shower is turned off.

Do I need to replace the stem or seat? Could I have damaged something when I installed the extension and new faucet?

    Thanks,

If the leak happens when your shower is off the seat is not making a good seal. You can replace the seat or resurface it. A new washer should also be installed.

I'm lost. Exactly what did you put the extension on, the shower, the tub spout? The shower valve has stems for the hot and cold and diverter valves. Is it the diverter valve that is leaking? Could you give more details?
