What may be wrong with my Tonsils?
Hello all! I just noticed this morning that I have just a few tiny, white 'patches' on my tonsils. Like I said, there very small, they almost look like plaque. I tried scrapping off one, it kind of 'moved' but did not come off... I don't think it's oral thrush, as I've seen that usually is throughout the whole mouth. Is that correct? I ONLY have a couple on my tonsils and NO where else in my mouth. I do also have a cold... Anyone know? Thank you so much!

If you have cold-like symptoms and you have white patches on your tonsils, chances are, it's strep throat. To confirm, the doc can do a quick swab and let you know, and then offer you antibiotics.

Usually patches on the tonsils will go away on their own, but watch them for a couple days. If they don't go away within 48 hours and you start having symptoms (sore throat, scratchy throat, swollen glands, headache etc) just go see the doctor. It could be tonsillitis, mono, strep, etc. They could put you on an anti biotic or if its viral, just bed rest!
    Hope this helps.
