My question is,, In California can I get a restraning order to keep my sister away from my children who are 11 & 14. She talksa to them about "how bad of a parent" I am, and tells them I can't afford the things they want because I am broke and at the moment disabled and not bringing in as much $$ as I did 2 years ago. My sister tells EVERYONE all about my issues, (and I barely talk to her at all) She gets all her mis-information from my 14 yo.. I have had it and am now (again) going to put my foot down. Can I use manulipulation of my children i.e... Mental abuse.. and have a restraining order put in place.
This is the last thing I want to do, but I hav3e tried several times to speak to my sister about her trying to undermind and out do me in any way she can. HELP!!

Now, on to your question…..

Can you get a restraining order? You might be able to.

But before you try, can I suggest something else?
Why not just keep your kids away from your sister? Does she come by? If she does, tell her to stop or you will call the cops.

Yes, my question why not just keep her away, they are kids, you and your sister are adults.

Don't let her come over and visit, don't let your kids go to her house.


This is all that a restraining order would do anyway.

I have tried to do that, but my daughter ran away and went to CPC saying I was abusing her, (CPS returned her to me) I obviously wasn't abusive, They sneek and I don't know how else to stop it

That's an idea.

Because obviously you have a serious problem on your hand. Show your sister that you mean business.

And maybe what your sister is doing might be abuse according to CPC.

You have a bigger problem than the sister. There is a displine problem with the children. They need tighter control and supervision, so there is not a chance to run off or a chance to see the sister.
