    Cleanout access
I want to put in a laminate floor over the square hole in the basement that accesses the main sewer cleanout (3" PVC). What is the easiest and most recommendable way of doing that enabling access as well as making it aestatically pleasing? Any suggestions would be more than welcome...

By telling me that it's a square hole instead of a clean out cover that sticks above the floor I'm assuming the cover's recessed below the floor line. If that's the case I would cut a square of laminate a little bigger then the hole and place it over the hole and floor it in. That way you would have a access plate flush with the floor and practically unnoticed. Regards, Tom
