I am experiencing pain on my right side. Doctor said I my pancreas was inflamed. I have a count 171-Amylase (20-115 are good levels) 582 Lipase(114-286 are good levels). What do I really have, how long and how did I get it? Do I needs to be extra worried. I also have a fibroid cyst.

    I'm surprised your home?

1] right upper abdominal pain and pancreatits - the most common cause would be a gallstone and possibly a gallbladder infection.

You need to be treated ASAP in this case, especially if you have fever and / or jaundice [ yellow]

2] drink fluids. Avoid fatty/ greasy food as this will 'test ' the gallbladder and pancrease.

3] avoid alcohol - this can cause inflammation of both the liver and pancrease.

4] a stomach or duodenal ulcer that has perforated or penetrated through to inflame the pancrese can cause this - you would definitely be very sick

BOTTOM LINE ; SEE A DOCTOR ASAP, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE ER
