My 3 year Grand Daughter will not talk
My three year Grand daughter will not talk unless you tell her what to say.She will say only one word at a time. She requires verbal prompting in order to communicate with others.
She will not play with other children, but rather obseves them. She exhibits constant fidgeting.
She babbles words together, her vocabulary is of one word, and she points to objects to show you what she want.
When she is around people she exhibit a low volume of voice, but when she think she is alone and playing with her toys she produce speech at a high volume of voice in the home setting.
She understand, and will do what you tell her to do.
When I tell her to go sit on her potty, she will go sit there until I tell her to get up.
What can I do to help her with her social skills, and to talk?

When she points to something she wants do not simply hand it to her make her ask for it.
Ask her simple questions like are you hungry for lunch?
I have noticed many kids are not talking until they are 4 years old.
Have you had her tested for hearing, autism and social disorders to rule them out?
They are diagnosing many kids now with some sort of autism that is not the traditional autism that you think of when people say autistic.
She could just be introverted and slow at socializing too.
