    Odor from Tub
We have been in our house for approximately 8 years and have had hot water odor for many years - but are unable to remove the anode without pulling the hot water heater due to inadequate clearance in the attic. We have put up with the hot water odor by running hot water daily - this keeps the odor away.
We have recently started getting a odor from our tub when we would run water, and it has progressively gotten worse to where it is noticeable all the time and starting to spread to other rooms. It is however more noticeable when we run water in the tub or shower (separate).
Is bleach the best advice for this problem??
    Appreciate any help.
    Thanks,

Lack of ceiling height happens with water heaters. To remove an old anode you can cut it into shorter pieces as you extract it. Use a hack saw or reciprocating saw. If you call a few plumbing supply houses you will eventually find an articulated anode rod that can be fed into tight places. I would flush the tank and possible rinse with ableach to insure you don't also have bacteria growing inside.
