    sore pads
Our 12 yr old collie X (gs+collie) has sore pads which seem to come on mostly at spring and autumn. Vet gives antibiotics but these seem very short term in effect. Given the choice dog always walks on tarmac rather than grass.
She also has joint problems in front legs so exercise is too limited.

I don't have the answer to the sore pads but I do for the joints. My very large Walker hound benefited greatly from glucosamine/chondroitine supplement from the drug store; the dosage goes by weight.

Thank you. We bought "glucosamine sulphate" tablets for our own joints but so far
    Haven't actually used them.
The "ingredients" list does not mention chondroitine but we will check before we buy.

dorsetbill, the bottle should have both names. Glucosamine sulphate is not exactly the same thing. And yes, it is good for us too, an excellent joint/tendon supplement. I was looking at my own bottle while I was answering your original post. :)
