Water from washer backing into kitchen sink
Lately when I've been doing my laundry, I've been hearing a gurgling sound in my kitchen sink. This started about a month ago. Today water actually spit out of the drain. Not a lot but just enough to make me concerned. My house is on a slab so there's no basement. Any idea as to why this is happening? Thank you for your time. I'll be watching for your answer, suggestion or solution... dkaz:confused:

Do you have a septic tank system? If so, it may be time to have it pumped out.

Charlotte-After I asked the question I scrolled down & found my answer through Francois' question.I forgot we had the same problem in Buffalo & I used to attach an old knee high nylon sock on the end of the drain hose. That caught the excess lint.I put a garden hose in the drain pipe & cleaned it out, then ran a wash cycle & the problem was gone. Now,thanks to Francois' answer I'm going to Wal-Mart today & getting a lint cage.In Buffalo I could use a sock because my hose hung over a washtub. Here in Florida the drainpipe is coming out of the wall so the sock won't work. Thank you very much for your prompt answer & I've got to tell you, I love this web site. It's truly very helpful. This is going in my address book for future reference. You people are great.:D

You may have to snake the line. I got 3/4 of a cup of lint out of the drain line.

Seems like the ultimate filter is here:
