    Whirlpool washer
My dad replaced the pump in our washer because water was leaking on our floor. It works right up to rinse then it will not pump water out or spin. What could he have done wrong?

You provide little details, but hereby guidelines to solve the problem :
1 - The washing cycle itself does not need any pumping action. The rinse cycle needs that action.
2 - Unless a drum is pumped near empty, the spinning process is blocked.
3 - Conclusion : the pump(motor) is not functioning. Most probably a wiring problem.
4 - Disconnect the power plug from the socket, and put it in front of you on the floor : safety first!
5 - Check if the pump motor is connected. If not, do so, and check proper operation of the machine.
6 - If yes, disconnect the pump wiring, and use a multimeter to see if there is any resistance between the pump motor connections (must be somewhere between 20 and 200 Ohm).
7 - If there is such resistance, there is another wiring problem inside the machine : reconnect pump and check other wiring.
8 - If all fails contact me with your findings. May be I can advice you further.
    ;)
