Working on OPT after H1 approval
    Hi,

Iam student working on OPT status . Recently my H1 was approved with start date from Jan 1, 2006 . My OPT is valid until May 2006. Can still work using my Opt till May 2006?

If so what are the consequences?? will it matter me if I am going for H1 B stamping with these paystubs (payrole using my OPT)?

I know these are a lot of questions but please help me .

Yes, you can still work on your OPT.

You need to tell your employer about your H-1B status, as you became liable for Social Security and Medicare taxes the day your H-1B visa was approved.

For 2006, you file Form 1040. For 2005, you file Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ.
