    Canon S450 printer help
I have a Canon S450 printer and recently needed to change color ink jet. Since doing this I keep getting messages such as: Error writing to LP1 and also my printer lights are flashing. 1 green, 6 yellow, 1 green. Can anyone give me help in getting this printer going again?

Check the manual for what the error message means. Did you follow instructions for inserting the new ink cartridge?

The LP1 error stands for Line Printer Port, and I'm not sure how to check what or if I need to change anything else or not. As to your suggestion on waching them around I've already tried that! Ha!

Sorry for the confusion, what I meant by checking the error message was the sequence of flashing lights you describe. I've just tried to look at the manual, but Canon don't make it available for download (you can buy a copy but I'm just not that committed :) ) One reason I don't buy or recommend canon products is that their tech support site is useless! You will need to check in the troubleshooting section of your canon manual (it might be on CD) that came with the unit.

Try removing each of your cartridges again and re-inserting them according to the manual. Also check if there is any tape you should've removed on the cartridge.

    Good Luck

Can't believe wacking it around didn't work - did you hit it hard enough (joke) :)

    Hi,
I would suggest you to check the catridge. It seems that the ink catridge is not loaded properly.

Remove and reseat the cartridge (both BJ cartridges for the S450) correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely.
