After a judgment was rule against me in July 2007 I tried to get in touch with the lawyers, so I could settle. They never answered their phone, and today I receive a city Marshall letter regarding the debt what can I do now to settle.
Pay the debt at the courthouse where the judgment is, get a receipt, and send a copy to the City Marshall.
Then, contact in writing, via certified mail, the attorney and request they file a satisfaction of judgment with a copy of your receipt as proof that it has been paid.
Good Luck.
The time to "settle" was before they got the judgement, now they can use the court to take the money from you. Have you talked to the original lender to settle with them?? If they do agree, it has to be in writing.
But most liekly you will have to pay in full or they will continue with legal action.
