US tax return and indian salary
    Hi,

I am going to file US tax return first time. I am inian and came to US on May 2007 on L1 visa. I have got W2 form from my employer.

I was paid indian salary from Jan to April and company has deducted tax accordingly.

Do I need to include indian salary (from Jan to April) in US tax return? Or I need to file tax return in india separatly for this period (I would prefer 2nd option if possible)?

    Thanks in advance.

If you are not married, you will file Dual status tax return as you have already completed 183 days in 2007. You will report only your US income.

If you are married, then you have both the choices. But there are requirements.
