    What the heck is this?
Last night I went out on my patio and found a Moth? Butterfly? It was brown with white markings on its wings and it had feather looking things as its antenna. I have never seen anything like it anywhere. Is it a moth? Is it a Butterfly? What kind and why does it have those feather antenna? I've tried to attach a picture of it to this question.

I'd say that it most likely was a moth. According to the following site moth or butterfly all butterflies have small rounded clubs at the end of their antenna whereas, moth's antenna have no clubs and the antenna can be feathery or thin. You might want to click on the link for that site.
