I'm wondering if I should download windows media player 10 to replace 9 but I've done this before and a lot of the files began to have ! Next to them which means they stopped working. Is media player 10 worth it and how do I sort this problem out. I have lots of other players but prefer this and its my main player. Thank you for your help.

What file extensions are the files that stopped working? Personally I try to get most my audio files associated with WinAmp and video files associated with VLC media player.

If WMP Version 9 is working good for you, why would you want to change it?
Version 10 doesn't have very much more to offer.
I have Win98SE, and V. 9 works great.

I agree with fredg ,stick with V9
I upgraded to v10 recently and have the same problem,I cannot play any files ( wma etc)that are downloaded .
I'd also be interested if anyone has a fix for the problem
