Are you member of a union? ---> Go to your union.Quote:

If not : go to a lawshop (at universities) where they can help you. Including how to find a pro-deo lawyer.
Success.
;)
No union, not inusred for legal resprestation, sounds like I am screwed
No, you are entitled to legal representation. Have you been terminated from your job? Did you steal the items?
Well I did do some things I am not proud of yes. I have a child who has leukemia and sometimes you do things that us do you don't want to admit. I took money and merchandise to salvage. I only work for 6 six months.

I will now quote Excon: "Don't give any info to the Police."
Well I have not been chargeed and I work out of town but my employer is accusing me of alleged fraud is what the officer put it. And thenext time I am in town they want to speak with me and told me to get legal councel and to be open and honest about there questions. So not really sure what to do. I have no record up until now so trying to prepare myself for the worst sceniro.

How much money/product (what ever did you steal)? Give a monetary sum? Seek to pay restitution to your employer if it escalates.
Question if you state you are willing to pay the full amount back and can do you think they will drop the whole thing with community service or do u stillhave to go to jail. I say I took between 5- 10000 dollars and some golf equipmentr
If you offer full restitution in exchange for dropping the charges, they may accept it. But I would discuss that with your attorney before making the offer.
10k your probably looking at 1st degree grand theft. I would suggest researching the laws in your state regarding this matter. Or like its been mentioned, seek legal council.
OK I believe it is closer to 3500 -5500 now that I add things up which includes the merchandise I took and sold. I have a new job and don't want it to ruin my life I fully want to clear this up and hope I still have a chance to correct things in my life. I have struggeld with depression and I guess I thoguth money would help but it only made it worse, now from having no money I have guilt as well
This would be a felony of the 4th degree and you could spend up to 18 months in prison for this crime. Sick kid or not, the prosecutor really doesn't want to hear a sob story about why you took the merchandise and sold it or as you put it salvaged it. It was not yours to take and dispose of. You can offer to repay this, but having no money just how do you think you are going to accomplish this feat? You need to ask for an attorney at your arraignment and discuss your options with him.
Welll I can get the money that is not the problem. So my question is this if I pay the full amount back what are my chances that I would avoid jail time, is there a law that if you are the only one workign in your family that that might save me since my spouse does not work.
No, there is no law that would prevent then from jailing you. Nor can we gauge your chances on staying out of jail. But clearly, making restitution will increase those chances.
OK thanks for the input looks like bread and water will be on the menu
Ok, Do not talk to the police, do not talk to the store people, don't confess don't personally try and make a deal. If there is any deal to be offered your attorney does it, since that way it is not making any confession with the offer.
The police are allowed to lie to you to get you to confess, remember that
Thanks for the police info, never been in trouble with the law so I am totally new to this. And very worried .
